Thanks for explaining this so thoroughly. You are removing so many fears from people who need to use hypnosis CONSCIOUSLY, rather than UNCONSCIOUSLY.

It could be because they don’t understand the meaning of words. That would be like trying to communicate with someone who speaks a different language – they just wouldn’t understand you.
But usually they do understand the meaning of simple words like “relax”. The problem is that they can’t calm their mind enough to focus on what the hypnotist is saying so that they can just “let go” on a conscious level.

No. I’m saying that people with less than a 70 IQ and those who are senile are usually difficult or impossible to hypnotize.
If you don’t know what senile means, then I suggest that you Google it.

Hi, Yes hypnosis & NLP can be very powerful tools to increase concentration, retention, and recall as well as eliminate test anxiety. Take a look at my program called “A Mind Like A Sponge.”

Hello Wolfgar,
Animals and fish cannot be hypnotized, only people can. Some animals, however do exhibit symptoms that some people call hypnosis, like “immobility response.” But this is NOT hypnosis, it is instinct that helps to keep them alive in times of danger by making them appear to be dead.
Fish, well buddy, I’m no expert, but I would guess that octopus and squid may have some kind of chemical that they inject into other fish that paralyzes them. Again, this is not hypnosis.

The deeper that a person goes into hypnosis, the more control they can have over their unconscious. For example, a very deep subject could have major surgery without chemical anesthesia!
For most of the therapeutic uses of hypnosis, depth of any kind is not required. Light subjects can get the same benefits as a deep subject.
